FunCakes Mix for Sloffen Base 500 g

FunCakes loves creating baking mixes that can be used for a wide variety of cakes and treats. These are must-have mixes that deserve a permanent spot in your pantry because they are so versatile. The FunCakes Mix for Sloffen Base is one of them. As the name suggests, you can use it for sloffen, but it’s also perfect for other cakes, cookies, or pastries. Apple pie? Filled cookies? Fruit tarts? Thumbprint cookies with jam? It’s all possible with this mix. The mix rises during baking, creating a delicious, cake-like base for tarts. Pair it with almond paste for an even richer flavor.

  • Easily make sloffen bases for tarts and pastries or bake filled cookies.
  • Just add butter and eggs to create a firm dough.
  • Content: 500 g

Preparation:

  • Mix 500 g of the mix with 155 g butter and 1 egg (50 g). Knead into a firm dough and let it chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.

For a slof:

  • Bring ingredients to room temperature. Mix 500 g mix with 155 g butter and 1 egg (50 g) into a firm dough and let it rest in the fridge for about 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C convection). Roll out dough to about 8 mm thick and line the slof ring.
  • Mix 250 g almond paste with 1 egg and put in a piping bag. Pipe in a zigzag pattern onto the sloffen base.
  • Mix 100 g custard powder with 250 ml water and whisk for about 5 minutes until smooth. Pipe the custard in the center of the slof and bake for 20–25 minutes.
  • Allow the slof to cool and decorate as desired.

For cookies:

  • Roll dough to about 3 mm thick and cut out shapes. Bake for about 12 minutes at 180°C (160°C convection).

For apple pie:

  • Roll dough to about 5 mm thick and line a 22–24 cm springform pan. Fill with 1 kg apple slices mixed with a little cinnamon and sugar. Cover with a lattice of dough strips and brush with beaten egg. Bake for about 50 minutes at 170°C (150°C convection).

Ingredients: wheat flour, sugar, lupin flour, raising agents: E450, E500, corn starch, natural flavor.
Allergens: see bolded ingredients. May contain traces of egg, soy, and milk.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. This product is Halal certified.
